Livres des Merveilles du Monde: Scene, Europe -- Among group of seven helmeted soldier (most with only helmets visible), three hold spears, all accompany two men, wearing hats, both with sword in sheath tied around waist, one raising left hand toward bearded man, wearing twisted headgear, with scimitar fastened to belt, accompanied by man, wearing hat, holding shield with left hand and spear with right hand, accompanied by group of dark-skinned soldiers, wearing twisted knotted headgear, one holding spear (most with only heads visible). Scene in hilly landscape with trees and buildings, to right building with four towers surmounted by spheres suggesting minarets, in background. Initial E of Europpe decorated with foliate ornament.
