Virgin Mary and Christ Child -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, holds nude Christ Child, cross-nimbed, wearing beads around neck, raising right hand in blessing. She is seated on canopied throne with backdrop inscribed MARIA MATER GRACIE MATER MISERICORDIE TU NOS AB HOSTE PROTEGE ET HORA MORTIS. At left, Pierre de Bosredont as donor, with joined hands, wearing tunic inscribed with Maltese cross, kneels at draped prie dieu on which book rests on cushion. Before prie dieu is dog. At right is angel, with joined hands.
Figures are in windowed room framed by arch supported by two slender columns. Walls are covered with drapery decorated with peacock feathers. Inscribed border of drapery only partially visible, AVE R[EGINA] CELO[RUM] MA[...] MARIE MATER
Border inscribed PIERRE DE BOSREDONT and DI CHOSSON DE NIBORO, flanking monogram AP, on both left and lower border.
Margins decorated with foliate and floreate ornament, inhabited by peacock standing on monogram AP, linked by vines, and by two rabbits flanking heraldic shield of Pierre Bosredont (quarterly, vair and gules).
