1) John Calybita: Scene, arriving at Monastery -- At left, before cross-surmounted monastery, group of tonsured monks accompany abbot, wearing miter, with left hand holding crozier and raising right hand, beside monk embracing another monk, both tonsured, all wearing monk’s habits. In foreground, John Calybita, nimbed, kneeling, lowering body to ground.
2) John Calybita: Scene, ordained Priest -- At right, accompanied by tonsured monk, wearing monk’s habit, holding crozier, mitered bishop, wearing vestments, seated on faldstool of the animal type, with right hand holding scissors and tonsuring head of John Calybita, nimbed, wearing monk’s habit, with joined hands raised. At far right, group of monks (most with only heads visible), all tonsured, wearing monk’s habits, the foremost two with open mouths, before lectern on which is open book (chanting).
