Christ: before Pilate -- Christ, crossed nimbus, draped hands crossed and bound with rope stands amid group of soldiers, six holding spears, one with heraldic banner (or double headed eagle sable, displayed), one holding scourge to His right shoulder, another grasping His left arm with left hand. All are before Pilate, wearing hat and ermine lined garment, seated on chair on platform, raising right hand and holding rod with left hand. Of three men behind the chair, one wearing hat, extends hand toward soldiers, touching shoulder of Pilate with left hand; another wears cap; and the third is tonsured.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament inhabited by hybrid with human face on hindquarters and fantastic animal. Text and miniature framed on three sides by gold bars decorated with flowers and intertwining vines.
