Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, with crossed rayed nimbus, wearing short loin cloth and crown of thorns, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to tau cross with titulus with pseudo-inscription. Mary Magdalen, nimbed, kneeling beside skull and bones, embraces base of the cross. Flanking the cross are two thieves, wearing short loin cloths, bound to tau crosses; on ground to left of the Christ are Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, seated or kneeling with joined hands raised; Evangelist John, nimbed, with hands raised; woman, nimbed, veiled, with joined hands raised; woman (?) wearing turban; and Longinus, wearing hat, piercing the side of the Christ with lance. To right of the Christ are Stephaton, wearing hat, holding sponge on rod in right hand; two men wearing headdresses and gesturing; and helmeted soldiers. In background is city of Jerusalem. Miniature framed by pilasters enclosing statues standing on corbels.
