Anna: Type, Foetus -- Anna, nimbed, veiled, holding object between her joined hands, sitting on carved throne, has in her abdomen nude Virgin Mary, as foetus, emanating rays. Above the throne is canopy, held by angels. Flanking the throne, behind low wall with statues in arched niches, are two men, including one wearing hat-like crown, holding scepter (?), and the other wearing hat, holding rod. God, nimbed, emanating rays, wearing triple crown papal tiara, holding tripartite globe surmounted by cross, appears amid clouds to top left. Distant landscape in background.
In right margin is painted vase of flowers, below pitcher in basin.
In lower margin is escutcheon with arms of Jean Carondelet (azure a fasce and six bezants or en orle, an archiepiscopal cross in pale beneath the shield), with the initials IC and the motto MATURA. To right is peacock, with crown of thorns, cup, and strawberry.
