Evangelist Mark, nimbed, pen behind ear, ankles crossed, is seated on chair with footstool before desk on which he holds piece of parchment with right hand, with knife in raised left hand. Above right, head of Evangelist symbol (lion), tongue emerging from open mouth showing teeth, emerges from cloud.
All enclosed in frame decorated with foliate ornament.
