Roman de la Rose: Scene, False Seeming cutting off Tongue of Slander -- Man, wearing garment with hood, representing Personification of Slander, kneels with his head restrained by Dominican friar, wearing hooded habit, representing Personification of False Seeming, seated on bench. Behind them, nun, wearing veiled habit with wimple, representing Personification of Forced Abstinence, raises knife with right hand and with rosary suspended from left arm extends left hand to shoulder of the Slander.
Scene against gold background within pink and blue frame of miniature decorated with foliate tendrils on three sides.
