Miniature:
Christ: Presentation -- Two men, one wearing hat, stand behind Simeon as High Priest, wearing triple crowned papal tiara with infulae, surmounted by cross. He supports, on cloth, over draped altar, nude Christ Child, nimbed, who reaches toward Virgin Mary, nimbed, supporting Christ Child with right hand. She is flanked behind by Prophetess Anna, wearing headdress, holding container with three doves, and by Joseph the Carpenter, nimbed. Cone-like canopy hangs over altar in windowed room or church with vaulted ceiling.
Medallions from bottom to top:
1) Joseph the Carpenter: Dream I (?) -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, is seated on canopied bed, suckling Christ Child, cross-nimbed and swaddled. Joseph sits beside the bed; Angel, head surmounted by cross, stands at foot of bed, gesturing with right hand and with left hand, holding scroll inscribed UOCABIS NOMINE EIUS IHESUS. Scene in windowed room; mirror over head of bead, and box (?) at foot of bed.
2) Joseph the Carpenter: Dream (?) -- Joseph, nimbed, eyes closed, raising right hand and holding walking stick in left hand stands opposite angel, left hand extended toward Joseph, raising right hand. Scene in landscape with building, trees and hills.
3) Christ: Presentation (?) -- Woman holding candlestick, Anna, wearing hat, her right hand holding basket with two (?) birds and Virgin Mary, nimbed, holding Christ Child, nimbed and swaddled, follow Joseph the Carpenter, nimbed, wearing hat, holding walking stick in right hand and extending left hand. All approach doorway, possibly to temple.
Margins decorated with foliate and floreate ornament.
