Jacobus de Cessolis: Text, Jeu des Échecs, Chapter 13 -- Apothecary (?), holding book in right hand and jar in left hand, sits on bench beside king, crowned, gesturing, seated on faldstool with animal ornament.
The text refers to the queen, but the crowned figure is male.
Margins with ivy-rinceaux ornament.
