Fable: Fly and Mule -- Fly attaches itself to hindquarters of ass, its head turned back. Scene in hilly landscape with city in background. Miniature for Aesop’s Fable of "The Fly and the Mule." Miniature framed by circular wreath with four ribbons and medallions, each medallion decorated with pair of wings as emblem of Louise of Savoy. Text summary in French verse is on facing page, within similar frame.
