Initial D enclosing escutcheon with arms of Jean Carondelet (azure a fasce and six bezants or en orle, an archiepiscopal cross in pale beneath the shield).
In top margin are covered vessel, surmounted by cross; strings of pearls, interspersed with basins and jewel; and basin.
In left margin are scattered roses and butterfly.
In right margin is painted vase, with pseudo-inscription, containing roses.
In lower margin are four putti, including three holding garlands and one playing pipe and tabor, all amid garlands and fruit, including pomegranates (?) and strawberries.
