Alexander the Great: Scene, Battle against Darius III -- Helmeted, mounted Macedonian and Persian soldiers, including Alexander the Great and Darius III, one with lance and shield, two with swords, one, bleeding, with spear with sword tied at waist (departing?), and three (?) soldiers, some mounted on horseback, departing in river. Scene in landscape with water to right, against gold sky. Figures painted in grisaille. Margins decorated with floreate and foliate border above and below left column, including strawberries, miniature within gold frame. Initial A of Ainsi decorated with foliate and floreate ornament.
