Upper half: Joshua: Conquest of Makkedah -- At left, army of soldiers, some mounted, holding lances, one bannered, raising axe, two with shields, before closed city gate of Makkedah; above the gate, soldier raising stone with right hand. Scene inscribed WIE DAS LANT UND DER ABBTGOT HAUPTSTAT MECEDA UON IOSUE WARD GEWUSTET UND ZERSTORET DA. From chapter 10 of Joshua. Joshua: Conquest (?) -- At right, eight men, one with head draped, two wearing hats, following two men supporting on shoulders, ark of covenant as building on frame with two poles. All approaching portal; man standing in city gate with hands raised. Lower half: Joshua: Distribution of Land -- Joshua, inscribed IOSUE, raising right hand, holding scepter with left hand, seated on throne with canopy, looking toward six Israelites three wearing hats, one wearing hood, foremost gesturing with raised right hand. Joshua: Distribution of Land -- At right, Reubenites carrying stones to build altar; man wearing hat at right, raising hammer over stone (dressing stone).
