Evangelist John, nimbed, holding goblet with tiny dragon (serpent) and martyr's palm in left hand, raising right hand in blessing toward the dragon, stands before cloth hung on rod. Beside him stands nimbed eagle (Evangelist Symbol), holding in beak scroll inscribed IN PRINCIPIO ERAT UERBUM. In background is domed structure with dormer windows and hanging pendants.
Margins with foliate and ivy-rinceaux ornament.
