Christ: Flight into Egypt -- Joseph the Carpenter, wearing hood, holds walking stick over right shoulder. He stands beside Vitgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, is seated sideways on bridled ass holding Christ Child in her lap. Rays descend from clouds in sky.
Below miniature is inscription DEUS I(N) ADIUTOR(IUM) MEU(M) INTE(N)DE.Innocents: Massacre commanded -- In lower margin Herode the Great, wearing crown, is seated in draped throne. Before him kneels soldier, wearing armor. At right, soldier, wearing armor, raises right hand and holds nude infant in left hand.
