Martin of Tours: dividing Cloak -- Martin of Tours, nimbed, wearing armor, grasps one side of cloak with left hand, cutting it with sword in right hand. Beggar, kneeling before him, holds other side of the cloak with right hand, crutch in left hand. Basin is on ground beside him. Beside Martin, soldier is astride bridled horse, holding reins of second horse, back turned. In background is entrance to castle or city; three horsemen and walker are on path at right.
Border around two sides of the miniature of foliate ornament, with serpents, strings of beads, all in blue on gold ground. Escutcheon decorated with heraldry of Guillaume Lallemant (gules a chevron or between three roses argent centered or) inserted amid foliage.
