Christ: Pieta -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with joined hands raised, sits and holds in her lap body of Christ, with crossed rays as nimbus and eyes closed, wearing short loin cloth, with wounds in hands and side. Flanking the Virgin Mary are Evangelist John, nimbed, kneeling, supporting the head of Christ; two Holy Women, both nimbed and veiled, one with joined hands raised and the other with hands crossed on her breast; and Mary Magdalen, nimbed, wearing headdress, kneeling, holding ointment jar in both hands.
In vignette in lower margin:
Christ: Entombment -- Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, both nimbed, support body of Christ, with rays as nimbus, wrapped in shroud, possibly laying in sarcophagus. Beside Christ stand Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with joined hands raised; Evangelist John, nimbed, and three Holy Women, all nimbed and veiled.
