Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard with sixteen red and gold pieces on squares lettered A-C for sixteen moves; diagram numbered 264. To left of board, initial C decorated with knotted and scrolling foliate infilling and with foliate ascender. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extensions, upper part terminating in long-eared, dragon-like hybrid animal, biting frame of board.
