Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Archangel Gabriel, nimbed, with right hand lowered and left hand pointing upward, approaches Virgin Mary, rays as nimbus, kneeling with arms crossed across breast beside cushion and before open book on draped prie dieu. Both flank vase of three lilies.
Scene in interior of room adjacent to bedroom with canopied bed and draped table, at right. In background, dove of Holy Ghost descend in rays from God through window of the room toward the Virgin. Outside windows, buildings, including colonnade, and landscape.
Frame:
Miniature within frame inhabited by putti. Two putti hold scroll inscribed with incipit of Matins of Hours of the Virgin. In left frame is a medallion inscribed ROSE APRES LIVER.
