Anthony Abbot the Great: Scene, observing Martyrdom of Christians -- Among group of tonsured monks, wearing monk’s habits, one holding book, all accompanying Anthony Abbot the Great, nimbed, tonsured, wearing monk’s habit, with right hand leaning on tau-staff and with sack slung over left shoulder.
At right beside tree, among two kneeling men, nimbed, one beheaded and body bleeding, the other with joined hands, both assailed from behind by two helmeted soldiers, one raising sword and one lowering sword with right hand, with his left hand holding scabbard; crenellated buildings on hilltop in background.
