David: communicating with God -- David, nimbed, wearing fleuron-tipped crown and purse at waist, with arms crossed on breast, kneeling beside harp on ground, looks up toward rayed arc of heaven enclosing bust God, wearing tiara (partly visible), with right hand raised in blessing, and holding cross-surmounted globe in left hand. Scene in hilly landscape with trees and city in background. Decorated initial D inhabited by bird. Miniature and text within architectural frame of two columns supporting pediment.
