Initial E:
Magi: Adoration -- Bearded, middle-aged magus and youngest magus, wearing cap, hold gold vessels. Youngest magus points with right hand to Christ Child, rayed nimbus, seated on lap of Virgin Mary. Eldest magus, crown beside him on ground, kneels with arms crossed over breast before nude Christ Child and Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, seated within stable with thatched roof, next to wall of ruin with classical column. Joseph the Carpenter stands behind her. Ox and ass look on from behind wattled fence.
Scene occurs within initial E decorated with foliage.
Margins:
Foliate border, including rosettes and medallions, frames text.
Within medallion in left border are two angels. One angel crosses arms over breast. The other angel raises joined hands. Both angels are nimbed.
Within medallion in lower border is David, crowned, half-figure, holding scroll inscribed MUNERA OFF[ERENT].
