Christ: Flagellation -- Christ, rays as nimbus, wearing short loincloth, stands in front of column, His arms tied behind. He is flanked by two torturers, one bald, raising left hand, the other, raising scourge held in right hand, holding, in left hand, rope attached to His ankles. At left three men, wearing hats, stand in doorway, through which city is visible in background. At right man wearing hat, watches through opening, holding sack (?); in distance behind him is woman wearing berbette. In foreground is block or sarcophagus inscribed IN ANNO XVE XXIX. Scene in room decorated with relief of putti.
Margins decorated with foliate and floreate ornament, including strawberry. In lower margin, heraldic shield of Hospitallers (gules, a cross argent). Text, Short Hours of the Cross.
