Virgin Mary: Visitation -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, wearing scarf, holds left arm of Elizabeth, nimbed, veiled, with right hand on her breast. They are flanked by two wingless, nimbed angels with crossed arms, and by two handmaidens.
In landscape background three male figures, one nimbed, possibly Joseph the Carpenter, approach on path toward the Virgin and Elizabeth. At left, one of two male figures sits, facing the other standing, outside building. At right,male figure stands at fence enclosing yard of another building on hill. In the distance, city on one of three mountains.
Frame:
Miniature within elaborate architectural frame inhabited by putti, some holding swags of floral ornament. At base of the frame is coat of arms.
