Christ: Flagellation -- Christ, rays as nimbus, wearing short loin cloth, body covered in sores, with his hands bound behind to pillar, is surrounded by four tormenters, two raise scourges in right hands, one extends left hand to right arm of Christ, one raises whip in right hand, and one, wearing hat, partly kneels to tie together the scourge. In background, in arched portal, two men, wearing hats, extend hands, accompanied by two other men. Scene in barrel-vaulted room with paneled walls. Framed text block of 15 lines is suspended from tree branch over path with arbor and foliage in foreground. Trees and foliage forming arch over scene; miniature within architectural frame.
