Initial I enclosing Evangelist Symbol of Matthew (angel), with both hands holding blank scroll; against gold background, at beginning of Ninth Lesson on the Twenty-second Sunday after Feast of Trinity. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by half figure of prophet, with left hand holding scroll, emerging from cloud flanked by possibly four helmeted soldiers, emerging from foliate buds (right); and busts of two men, one with raised hand, amid foliage (lower).
