Miniature, vignette, right margin: Christ: sought by Jairus -- Accompanied by four soldiers two with only helmets visible, at least three holding spears, Jairus, wearing hat and ermine-trimmed garment, gestures toward Christ, cross-nimbed, with right hand on book held in left hand. Scene in hilly landscape with trees and city buildings in distance. Initial I enclosing Evangelist Symbol of Matthew (angel), with both hands holding blank scroll; against gold background, at beginning of Ninth Lesson on the Twenty-fourth Sunday after Feast of Trinity. Initial D enclosing head of man at beginning of Collect, "Deus refugium nostrum et virtus adesto piis Ecclesiae tue precibus auctor ipse pietatis ..." Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by two half figures of men, one gesturing and one reading from open book with pseudo-inscriptions, both emerging from clouds (right).
