Scene, Liturgical: Dedication of Church -- Initial U enclosing three men, two wearing turban-like headgear and one wearing belted purse with joined hands raised. At right, kneeling acolyte, possibly tonsured, holding tapered candle, behind tonsured priest, wearing vestments, with both hands holding wafer (host) over altar with decorated retable surmounted by at least two candles and curtain on one side; against gold background, at beginning Dedication of a Church (Scene, Liturgical: Celebration of Mass). Text is chapter for First Vespers, Dedication of Church. Initial F enclosing God, wearing crown over miter and ermine-lined mantle, with right hand holding scepter and with left hand holding gloves; against gold background, at beginning of First Lesson reading from Book of Kings. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by nude wild man, wearing hat, with right hand raised, partly formed by foliage (upper right).
