Julius Caesar: Scene, Civil Wars, Combat between Gaius Scribonius Curio and Juba I of Numidia -- Among three men, wearing wide-brimmed hats, one holds sword, the foremost extends left hand toward foremost man (Gaius Scribonius Curio and Juba I of Numidia meeting), wearing brimmed hat, scimitar fastened at waist, among group of at least six men, all wearing brimmed hats or helmets, two hold bannered lances and one holds human-faced shield. Scene in grassy and hilly landscape with trees. Figures painted in grisaille. Decorated with ivy-rinceaux and floreate ornament in border above and below left column, including daisies, miniature within gold frame. Initial L of Lors decorated with foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature for Chapter 980 of Faits de Romains.
