Upper half: Jephthah: Battle -- Soldiers of Jephthah with swords and spear, fighting Ammonites, bleeding from wounds, one raising sword, one with scimitar. Tent in background. Two men, gesturing and looking toward each other at right. From chapter 11 of Judges. Jephthah: Battle -- Foremost of five men stabs king of Ammon in portico of building. Scenes inscribed WIE JEPPE DER HAUBTMAN UON ISRAHEL STRAIT MIT DEM HAIDENISCHEN KUNIG AMON UND IM DEN STREIT AN GEWAN. Lower half: Jephthah: Captain of the Gileadites -- At left, Jephthah, hands raised, wearing sword at waist, standing below crown held in raised right hand of foremost of six men, one wearing hood, one wearing hat on hood. Scene inscribed DA IEPPTE NACH DEM STREIT GECHRONT WARD. From chapter 11 of Judges. Abimelech: Death -- At right, one of five men wearing soft hat, three carrying bundles of wood, all looking up toward woman inscribed THEBES DAZ WEIB, wearing hood, raising stone in right hand, on second level of building above Abimelech, inscribed ABIMALECH, stone on head, eyes closed, arms raised, falling to ground, bleeding from wounds.
