Background of gold scroll work in miniature. Blue heads above, inside frame of miniature.
Margins decorated with border of gold rinceaux inhabited by monkey, seated on stool before lectern (Scene, Burlesque: Reading); hybrid man holding round shield (buckler) with left hand and scimitar with right hand; and hybrid man wearing miter and blowing horn. Gold geometric ornament at each corner of miniature.
