Apostle, Andrew: Crucifixion -- Apostle Andrew, nimbed, with rope tied around waist, wrists and ankles bound to saltire cross by ropes pulled on by three executioners; in landscape. Miniature at beginning of Sanctorale. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration inhabited by dog, wearing cross-surmounted miter and vestments (upper); half figure of nimbed angel, wearing fillet, emerging from cloud (left) and hybrid man, with body of bear, wearing hat and mantle (lower).
