1) Initial B enclosing Apostle Andrew, nimbed, with both hands holding saltire cross; against gold background, at beginning of Chapter of First Vespers for Feast of Apostle Andrew (11.30). 2) Initial A enclosing Augustine of Hippo, nimbed with miter, wearing cope with morse, with gloved left hand holding heart pierced by arrow and with left hand holding book; against gold background, at beginning of First Lesson of Matins for Feast of Apostle Andrew (11.30). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by monkey (upper); bear (right); and hybrid man, with body of bear, wearing veiled headgear (lower).
