Miniature, column, left: 1) Apostle, Thomas: Incredulity -- Apostle Thomas, nimbed, partly kneeling, with left hand holding book and with right hand extended to bleeding wound in right side of Christ, cross-nimbed, with right hand raised in blessing and with left hand holding cross-inscribed bannered cross-staff. His wounds visible in hands and foot. Scene in hilly landscape with city buildings visible in distance. Miniature at beginning of Collect for Feast of Apostle Thomas (12.21). Miniature, vignette, left margin: 2) Christ: Parable, Talents -- Among three men, one crouching in foreground, digging hole in ground, and one wearing belted purse with right hand extending object, possibly coin, to extended right hand of bearded man, wearing hat over hood, and belted purse. Scene in hilly landscape with trees and city buildings in distance. Initial D enclosing at beginning of Collect for First Vespers on Feast of Apostle Thomas (12.21). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration inhabited by monkey (upper); and fantastic animal, possibly griffin (lower).
