Initial C enclosing half figure of Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing loin cloth, with left hand raised and with right hand indicating wound in right side, bleeding, also bleeding from wounds in hands; against gold background, at beginning of First Lesson in Vespers for Feast of Apostle Thomas (12.21). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by three fantastic animals (right and lower).
