Heraldry, French: François de Chabannes -- Escutcheon decorated with the heraldry of François de Chabannes: quarterly 1 and 4, gules a lion rampant argent crowned or (Chabannes); 2 and 3, quarterly 1 and 4, azure semy fleur de lis or a tower argent (Tour d'Auvergne); 2 and 3, or gonfanon gules; over all, an escutcheon or three torteaux gules
; surmounted by crown and surrounded by two collars one knotted and interspersed with scallop shells of the Order of the Holy Spirit, and one of interlocking M's alternating with fleur de lis of the Order of Saint Michael, oval medallion of Archangel Michael (transfixing dragon?) and Maltese Cross of the Order of the Holy Spirit in which is dove; above all, crest, out of ducal coronet on helmet, head of collared buck, scrolling foliage. Supporters, pair of collared greyhounds rampant.
