Christopher of Lycia: carrying Christ Child and Angel, Archangel Michael: transfixing Satan -- Christopher, nimbed, wearing ermine lined mantle, grasping staff with both hands walks through water. Christ Child, crossed nimbus, sits on right shoulder of Christopher, right hand on His breast, left hand on forehead of Christopher. At left, Michael, nimbed, wearing cross surmounted fillet (crown), pierces mouth of winged devil with cross staff held in right hand. He holds shield with left hand.
Scene in landscape with church on hill in background.
Miniature and text surrounded by gold frame on three sides, also enclosing hermit, wearing hood, holding with both hands, lantern with open door. In background, small building with thatched roof, and partially enclosed by wattle fence. Margins decorated with border of rinceaux, foliate and floreate ornament.
