Livres des Merveilles du Monde: Scene, Hibernia -- To left, two men, wearing hats, support corpse of man by his shoulders and hips, beside shore, opposite another man, wearing hat, with sword tied to belt, lowering pole to river. In center, among group of helmeted soldiers (most with only heads visible), two hold bannered spears, one holds spear, one holds shield, the foremost three extend hands to pile of three corpses, twisted and bleeding on ground beside two helmets and halberd. To right, Patrick of Ireland, wearing miter and bishop’s vestments, holds crozier with right hand and raises left hand, walks beside cave, accompanied by two tonsured males, possibly monks, and another man, wearing pointed hat (partly visible). Scene in hilly landscape with castle in background. Initial I of Ibernie decorated with foliate ornament. Miniature for Livre de Merveilles du Monde for Hibernia (Ireland).
