David: communicating with God -- Below canopy, David, wearing crown on hat, with joined hands, kneels before draped prie-dieu on which are Tables of Law (?) and open book. He looks up toward half-figure of Christ-Logos, rays as cross nimbus, raising right hand in blessing, holding with left hand cross-surmounted globe, appearing amid rays in window. Dog sits in background, next to draped bench (?), looking up at the window. Scene framed by two arches supported by two columns. Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including daisy and dianthus, and inhabited by bird and hybrid man.
