Christ: crowned with Thorns -- Christ, rays as nimbus, wearing purple mantle, bare-breasted, body covered in sores, sits on bench, bleeding from wounds of crown of thorns, it pressed on by sticks held by three tormenters, one wearing hat. In foreground, man partly kneels, extending right hand to palm held in the right hand of the Christ. In background, in arched portal, stand three men, one hooded and one wearing hat, raising right forefinger. Scene before room with arch and portico in background, possibly interior, with paneled walls. Framed text block of 15 lines is suspended from tree branch over path with arbor and foliage in foreground. Trees and foliage forming arch over scene; miniature within architectural frame.
