Upper half: Samson: Annunciation of Birth -- At left, Manoah, wearing hat, hands raised, looking toward angel, nimbed, raising right hand in blessing. Scene inscribed MANNE SAMPSONS UATER DEM WARD SON SUN GEKUNDET UON DEM ENGEL. From chapter 13 of Judges. Samson: requesting Wife (?) -- Samson, extending both hands to foremost of four men (?), one wearing hat, one wearing hood. Scene inscribed WIE SAMPSON DER IUNGLING ALLES LOB UON DEN MENIG ENPFING. From chapter 14 of Judges. Samson: slaying Lion -- Samson, kneeling on back of lion, rending jaws of back-turned head of the lion, tongue emerging from mouth Scene inscribed DO SAMPSON SEIN KRAFT UON ERST AN DEM LEO UOLBRACHT. Lower half: Samson: Marriage Contract -- At left, bishop, flanked by three women and three men, and by wife of Samson, and by Samson, both extending and clasping right hands, each wrist grasped by hand of the bishop.
