Evangelist, Luke: painting Virgin Mary -- Luke, nimbed, wearing hat, sits at easel and with brush held in right hand paints portrait of Virgin Mary. To right sits Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with joined hands raised. Scene in interior with view of distant landscape through doorway.
Margins with emblems, including greyhound and dragon. Four vignettes (clockwise from top right):
1) Luke, nimbed, standing.
2) Soldiers amid tents outside city.
3) Nimbed man, possibly Luke, stands before altar (?). Another man witnesses scene.
4) Evangelist, Luke: preaching -- Luke, gesturing, stands beside ox, before large group of people seated on ground.
