Under architectural setting of trefoil arch, Virgin Mary nimbed, veiled, standing beside Evangelist John nimbed, beardless, wearing hooded garment, hands crossed on breast; to right, cock above Apostle Peter nimbed, bending forward, weeping; inscriptions “At the crowing of the cock” (Ge’ez), and “Mary, His mother, how she looked on and John did not run, and Peter, how he weeps” (Ge’ez).
