Initial I:
Christ: Presentation -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, holds Christ Child in left arm and extends right hand toward draped left arm of Simeon, nimbed, raising right hand. Figures flank column, forming initial I.
Margins:
Foliate border, including candelabrum forms decorated with grotesque heads, frames text. Putti, including some playing musical instruments inhabit vine-scrolls.
In right border, oval plaque attached to border is inscribed SPQR.
In lower right corner of border is Personification of Justice, leaning on staff and holding scales in raised right hand.
In lower border, catchword MASCU(LINUM) inscribed on plaque surmounted by putti.
