Christ: Bewailing -- Holy woman, nimbed, hands crossed, kneels behind Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, seated with joined hands raised. On her lap reclines Christ, nimbed, wearing loincloth, bleeding from wounds in feet, sides, head, and hands. Behind him is Evangelist John, nimbed, kneeling on one knee, his hands touching Christ's head. Scene in front of cross in landscape setting.
Margins are decorated with floreate border, including daisy, thistle, columbines, and rose, inhabited by fly and moth.
