Christ: crowned with Thorns -- Christ, with crown of thorns and wearing purple cloak, is seated. At left are Pilate (?) wearing turban-like headgear, holding staff in left hand, and indicating Christ with right hand, and torturer, raising club in right hand. At right are two other torturers, one, wearing helmet, touching crown of thorns with club held in both hands and the other, kneeling on one knee, holding hat in left hand and with right hand, placing stick in right hand of Christ. Scene in room with window through which landscape is visible. Above window, relief of shield flanked by two fantastic animals.
Margins decorated with floreate ornament. In lower margin, heraldic shield of Hospitallers (gules, a cross argent). Text, Short Hours of the Holy Spirit.
