Christ: Temptation, 2nd --At left, on topmost of three platforms of tower-like temple, devil as man holds scroll inscribed SI FILIUS DEI ES MITTE TE DEORSU(UM) (Matthew 4:6). He faces Christ, crossed nimbus, holding scroll inscribed SC(RI)PTU(M) E(ST) N(ON) TE(M)PTAB(IS) DO(MINU)M D(EUM) T(UUM) (Matthew 4:7).Christ: Temptation, 1st --At lower right, devil as man holds scroll inscribed SI FILIUS DEI ES DIC UT LAPIDES ISTI PA(NES) FI(ANT) (Matthew 4:3). He faces Christ, crossed nimbus, holding scroll inscribed SCRIPTU(M) E(ST) NO(N) I(N) SOLO PA(N)E UIUIT HO(MO) (Matthew 4:4). Three stones are on ground between devil and Christ.
