Denis of Paris: Beheading -- Denis of Paris, nimbed, wearing bishop's miter, with hands bound, kneels beside two companions, nimbed, tonsured, decapitated, reclining on ground, their heads beside them. At right is man, wearing hat, holding sword in right hand and touching Denis's shoulder with left hand.
In background is hill (Montmartre), upon which is road leading to chapel and to church at summit. On road are figures and dog. Buildings of Paris are in distance. Stars are in sky.
In margin is floreate border.
