Jean Froissart: Chroniques, Book II, Chapter 96 -- Soldiers, wearing armor, one holding standard with arms of Flanders, lead by Earl of Flanders, wearing surcoat with arms, attack soldiers of Ghent, in armor, some wounded, entering city gates of Bruges. Banner decorated with arms of Ghent surmounts gate.
Text describes battle of Bruges, in May, 1382, between the Earl of Flanders and Philip von Artaveld of Ghent.
